Our Team

Matt is a Co-Founder & Partner of Talaria. He is also Co-Founder & Partner of LWK Partners, an LA-based institutionally-backed real estate private equity firm focused on Southern California markets. He brings over 10 years of real estate private equity, corporate private equity, and investment banking experience. Previously, Matt was Director of Acquisitions at a Chicago-based family office managing approximately $500 million in real estate assets, where he established the LA office and developed the firm's net lease industrial strategy. Before that, he served as Private Equity Associate at Ares Management, evaluating acquisitions and special situations across industries while serving as Board Observer for portfolio companies including CHG Healthcare and Jacuzzi Brands. Matt began his career in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and graduated with honors from the University of Pennsylvania.

James is a Co-Founder & Partner of Talaria. He is also Director of Commercial Technology at Breakthru Beverage California. He brings over 20 years of entrepreneurial and operational experience in the beverage and confectionary industries. Previously, he was Senior Vice President of Business Intelligence & Strategy at Wine Warehouse, his family's wine, beer, and spirits distributor in California. James and his team developed the firm's go-to-market platform, and he helped lead the firm's M&A effort and legal strategy through and following the family's exit in the firm's 50th year. In between tenures at the firm, James completed a Master of Science in MS&E (Decision & Risk Analysis) at Stanford University, where he was a Threshold Venture Fellow (DFJ ELF). He progressed into the PhD program in Engineering Risk Analysis, completing his coursework before taking leave and returning to the business. He sits on the board of the UCLA Jonsson Cancer Center Foundation, and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Georgetown University in Mathematics and History.
